Missouri Business Colleges

    • The Missouri Economic Research and Development Center predicts that the field of business and financial operations within the state will grow by more than 9 percent from 2004 to 2014, creating approximately 10,800 new jobs in business-related fields. A number of colleges and universities in Missouri offer programs in business. Through lectures, assignments and learning experiences that occur outside of traditional classrooms, these schools prepare students for careers in a variety of fields, including entrepreneurship, management, banking, logistics and accounting.

    Park University

    • Home to more than 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students, Park University is a private, nonsectarian school in Parkville, a suburban area 12 miles from Kansas City. The college's business programs are its most popular among students, reports the "2009 Barron's Profiles of American Colleges." Baccalaureate programs include accounting, business administration and business economics. The college also offers a business management bachelor's degree program that allows students to specialize in aviation, computer information systems, engineering administration, finance, health care, human resources and logistics.

      Courses for some programs are offered online as well as in classroom-based formats. Internships are available in most programs, and the school offers a semester study in Washington, D.C. The college also offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with concentrations in entrepreneurship, finance, health service management, international business and management information systems.

    University of Missouri at Columbia

    • In 2010, "U.S. News & World Report" placed the University of Missouri at Columbia at the 102nd-place spot among all universities in the United States. The college's 1,372-acre campus is approximately 120 miles west of St. Louis and 120 miles east of Kansas City and has an enrollment of more than 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

      The university's Trulaske School of Business grants bachelor's degrees in accounting, economics, finance and banking, international business, management, marketing and real estate. The college offers study-abroad business programs in a variety of countries, as well as internships both in Missouri and in foreign cities like Madrid, Spain; London, England; and Sydney, Australia. Online and evening courses are available for non-traditional, adult students. MBA and doctoral degrees in business are also awarded at the university.

    Saint Louis University

    • The Roman Catholic Church established Saint Louis University in 1818, and since that time the school has grown to an enrollment of more than 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The school received the 88th-place ranking among all universities in the United States from "U.S. News & World Report" in 2010.

      The college's John C. Cook School of Business has more than 1,700 students enrolled in its programs. The college offers an accelerated three-year Bachelor of Business Administration degree as well as traditional baccalaureate business degrees in accounting, information technology management, economics, finance, international business, entrepreneurship, leadership and change management and marketing. Internships are available for all undergraduate business students. Also offered are full- and part-time MBA degree programs. Study-abroad placements are featured for both undergraduate and graduate students.
