Well Formed Goals Using NLP

As a Life coach & NLP master practitioner, I am often asked about how to set goals.
NLP is a powerful methodology that can help you to get the results you want in all areas of your life.
By using the following process you will be able to fine tune your goals, discover what you really want and the steps, to achieve it! 1.
Positive What do you want? This must be stated in the positive as your subconscious mind does not know the difference between positive and negative Did you know that dwelling in the negative can actually be bad for your health! 2.
Sensory specific How will you know when you have it? What will you be doing when you get it? What will you see, hear and feel like when you have it? 3.
Contextualized Where and when do you want to have it? Where and when do you not want it? 4.
Self achievable It is very important that the goal must be within your own realm of influence i.
e.
is something over which you have control.
What resources do you need to be able to achieve it? What do you need to do to achieve it? Is this something which you, yourself, can achieve? Or does it require that OTHER people behave in a certain way? 5.
Ecological What are the advantages and the disadvantages? There are always disadvantages in making a change - being alert to these keeps you `at cause' by making it your choice.
What are the advantages of making this change? What are the disadvantages of making this change? What will achieving this lose you? Become? 6.
Worthwhile This is the motivation question.
Which of your values will be fulfilled by achieving this goal? What's important to you about getting it? What will this goal help you avoid feeling? What is the benefit of this goal? 7.
The first step Do you have a first step? In order to turn your dream into a concrete reality you mast take that vital first step, because without it you won't build up sufficient momentum to take you to the next step.
